Carbon Free California Applauds the Approval of the 2022 Climate Change Scoping Plan

(December 15, 2022) – Today, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) voted to approve the 2022 Climate Change Scoping Plan. In response, Carbon Free California released the following statement:

“We applaud the state for advancing a plan for achieving carbon neutrality that is both ambitious and practical. The 2022 Climate Change Scoping Plan represents a much-needed step toward achieving a carbon free future. It utilizes a diverse array of carbon reduction technologies, such as carbon capture and sequestration, while also pursuing no regret solutions like the leveraging of natural and working lands. The plan also recognizes the importance of clean, firm power as a backbone of a decarbonized grid. As the state moves toward achieving its climate goals, it is critical that we deploy every available clean energy resource to ensure significant reductions in carbon emissions, minimizing the impacts of climate change while protecting the state’s economy.”
